Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve Middle-Market to Large Commercial client workers' compensation claims, communicating regularly with parties including the insurance adjuster, client, defense attorney, and outside consultant.
- Gather facts, review coverage, and analyze estimates to resolve coverage disputes favorably for clients.
- Evaluate claims for reserve or settlement purposes.
- Prepare stewardship reports for the client, Client Advisor, and Account Executive on an agreed-upon schedule.
- Provide recommendations or guidance to the Client Advisor or Account Manager on claims for clients generating less than $10,000 in commercial revenue annually.
- Back-up other Claim Consultants as needed, especially those managing Workers' Compensation claims for Middle Market and Large Commercial clients.
- Strategically manage existing open WC claims, documenting all activity in Epic, maintaining ongoing contact with the insurance adjuster, client contacts, defense attorney, and others involved in the claim.
- Assist the Account Executive and Client Advisor in resolving coverage questions, identifying and reporting frequency or severity trends, and developing risk management techniques to reduce future insurance costs.
- Communicate with adjusters, clients, and others involved in the claim, responding within 1 business day to all inquiries and providing updates as needed.
- Regularly review and monitor open WC claims, maintaining a record of status and related data until resolution.
- Enter and maintain data in Epic (Agency Management Software) including email, phone contacts, and client stewardship reports.
- Contact clients as requested or agreed upon, handling all P&C claims-related mail and informing the Client Advisor or Account Executive when necessary.
- Review account policy information to confirm coverage and coordinate with the Client Advisor and Account Executive if there are any coverage concerns.
- Work with carriers and clients to ensure claims are resolved promptly and fairly.
- Develop and foster good working relationships with adjusters and clients by responding within 1 business day to all inquiries, anticipating needs, and expressing gratitude for their help, cooperation, and time.
- Provide stewardship reports on assigned clients as requested by the Marketing team, Client Advisor, or Account Executive to assist in renewal marketing or renewal presentations.
- Support the mission and vision of the Agency as a whole and specifically of the Claim and Risk Management Team.
- Complete Continuing Education requirements to maintain P&C license and other designations.
- Perform other activities or tasks as requested.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in Insurance, P&C
- 3 years in brokerage preferred, not required
- 3 years or more of claims management experience
- Active P&C license, or ability to successfully complete training and pass licensing test within 12 months of hire
- High-school diploma, or equivalent (College degree, a plus)
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- 3 years or more Customer-oriented service experience
- Exercise good judgment/decision making ability
- Possess good problem-solving skills
- Work independently, as well as part of a team
- Prioritize tasks and work on multiple projects simultaneously

- Attention to detail
- Intermediate or above computer skills (utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Agency Management software)
- Intermediate skills or above navigating the internet
Pay
The base compensation range for this position is $115,000 - $162,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity. Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
