Workday Solution Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the System Integrator (SI), City IT teams, and project leadership to guide key areas like integration, data migration, security design, and environment strategy.
• Help ensure we’re using Workday the right way—leveraging delivered functionality, avoiding unnecessary customization, and building a solution that’s scalable and maintainable.
• Act as a go-to resource for design decisions and technical risks, helping the team stay on track and maintain quality throughout the implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Twelve (12) years of enterprise technology experience.
• Seven (7) years serving as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Lead Architect on large-scale implementations.
• Demonstrated experience designing and governing enterprise application, integration, and data architectures.
• Experience leading architecture reviews and establishing technical standards and governance processes.
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, integration platforms, cybersecurity principles, and enterprise application design.
• Experience supporting ERP, HCM, or enterprise SaaS implementations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public sector implementation experience.
• Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
• Experience with Workday, Oracle Cloud, SAP, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Experience supporting large-scale municipal, county, or state government programs.

• Local in the Chicagoland area.
