Workday Solution Architect

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workday Solution Architect with strong expertise in Workday Extend to lead solution architecture, design, and technical delivery for Workday Extend applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience leading multiple Workday Extend implementations, translating business requirements into scalable solutions, and guiding development teams through design, development, testing, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple Workday Extend implementations from solution design through deployment.
• Translate business requirements into effective Workday Extend solution designs.
• Recommend appropriate Workday Extend design patterns, architecture, and best practices.
• Identify Workday Extend platform limitations early and recommend alternative technical approaches.
• Define and review the security model, integrations, workflows, and data architecture for Extend applications.
• Evaluate application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Review technical designs and development approaches throughout the build phase.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and implementation challenges before they impact delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and support to developers on complex design decisions and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams throughout development, testing, and deployment.
• Remain engaged throughout the implementation lifecycle to ensure solution quality and alignment with business requirements.

Requirements

• 4-6+ years of relevant Workday experience.
• Strong Workday HCM Core functional experience.
• Proven experience leading multiple Workday Extend implementations.
• Strong understanding of Workday Extend architecture and application development.
• Experience with data concepts and data modeling.
• Strong understanding of Workday security, integrations, workflows, and data design.
• Experience evaluating performance and scalability of Workday Extend applications.
• Ability to work closely with developers and provide technical architecture guidance.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
