About the role

In this role, you will partner with functional stakeholders and HR teams to design, build, and refine Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields that deliver meaningful workforce insights. You will balance technical reporting expertise with strong communication, documentation, and data governance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields that support HR operations and business decision-making.
  • Meet with functional leads and subject matter experts to gather reporting needs and convert business requests into practical technical solutions.
  • Evaluate existing Workday-delivered reporting options to determine when standard functionality can be used and when custom development is necessary.
  • Maintain and enhance reporting assets by reviewing performance, resolving errors, and improving usability for end users.
  • Create clear documentation for report logic, field definitions, and design decisions to support long-term maintenance and continuity.
  • Produce scheduled and ad hoc HR metrics for leadership and internal stakeholders using Workday and other relevant data sources.
  • Assist with release readiness by assessing the impact of Workday updates, identifying affected reporting objects, and supporting testing activities.
  • Collaborate with security and functional teams to ensure reporting access, data handling, and privacy practices align with governance standards.
  • Serve as a reporting resource for HR staff and people leaders by troubleshooting issues, answering questions, and sharing best practices.
  • Research new Workday analytics and reporting capabilities to recommend improvements that better address organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience building and supporting Workday reports using tools such as Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Dashboards, and Discovery Boards.
  • Strong ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting report issues, validating data accuracy, and optimizing report performance.
  • Experience documenting report design, logic, and support procedures in a clear and organized manner.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security practices, and privacy considerations related to HR and workforce reporting.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and solid overall Microsoft Office proficiency for analysis, presentation, and communication.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work closely with HR teams, functional leads, and senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with HR data, analytics, and related systems; exposure to SQL or additional database reporting tools is a plus.
