Workday Principal Consultant
About the Role
RPI Consultants' Workday Principal Consultant is a senior consulting and delivery leader responsible for successful client outcomes across complex Workday engagements. The role is a trusted advisor to client leaders and a senior functional resource for multidisciplinary delivery teams, focusing on Workday Financial Management and Supply Chain Management for organizations already live on Workday.
The Principal Consultant works directly with clients to understand business processes, assess how Workday is being used, recommend practical improvements, and guide assessments, optimization efforts, advisory engagements, and targeted projects.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior functional lead on assessments, optimization efforts, advisory engagements, and targeted post-production projects, staying close to the analysis, recommendations, and solution decisions
- Work with project and engagement leaders to monitor scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client satisfaction, identifying Workday-specific issues early and helping the team resolve them
- Advise client leaders by translating finance, procurement, and supply chain priorities into practical Workday recommendations, explaining options and tradeoffs clearly to business and technology stakeholders
- Connect functional and technical requirements by identifying implications across business process configuration, integrations, data, reporting, security, and platform capabilities
- Support presales scoping by working with RPI's presales team to define the delivery approach, scoping details, assumptions, dependencies, and work effort estimate
Qualifications
- 10+ years of enterprise application or ERP consulting experience, including substantial Workday consulting responsibility and a record of success in senior client-facing roles
- Strong Workday application and business-process knowledge across Financial Management and Supply Chain Management, with deep expertise in at least one area and the ability to turn business needs into practical recommendations
- Hands-on experience leading Workday assessments, optimization efforts, post-production support, targeted projects, or comparable engagements
- Technical breadth to recognize dependencies involving business process configuration, integrations, data, reporting, security, and platform capabilities (hands-on integration development is not required)
- Experience defining project approaches, scoping details, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and work effort estimates in collaboration with presales and delivery teams
- Executive presence, sound judgment, and referenceable Workday client outcomes, preferably in healthcare or another regulated industry
- Ability to travel as client needs require
