About the role
Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. As a Workday HR Specialist, you will join Turnberry's Business Transformation practice, which is dedicated to diagnosing and addressing core business challenges including regulatory compliance, full-scale implementation, managing change, and driving continuous improvement across transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist Benefit Data Management Team with operations
- Provide consultation and support to employees, managers, and HR partners on HR-related inquiries and business processes, including payroll, compensation, recruitment, Human Capital Management (HCM), security, reporting, Leave of Absence, learning, and other HR programs
- Maintain a thorough understanding of employee, manager, HR, and senior leadership business processes to ensure accurate and timely support
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to address escalated or complex issues, implement process improvements, support policy changes, and contribute to service delivery enhancements
- Resolve payroll-related issues by conducting root cause analysis and collaborating with payroll, tax, benefits, and other cross-functional teams as needed
- Process enterprise-level corrections, rescissions, and modifications to both in-progress and completed transactions, including employee data updates and maintenance
- Perform audits and validation activities to ensure HR data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with established standards
- Identify opportunities to improve HR service delivery and recommend innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and the employee experience
- Investigate and resolve complex HR matters that fall outside standard procedures, working directly with employees, managers, HR partners, and other stakeholders while meeting established service level agreements (SLAs)
- Document case activities, maintain accurate records, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee information
- Work with HR Business Partners to help define HR processes and how they will work within the framework of an HR Cloud System
- Contribute to technical projects related to platform extendibility, data integrity, and other HR-related systems
- Serve as a tier 3 escalation for system support cases
- Execute process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes, and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation
- Translate functional requirements into technical documentation to support specific implementation scenarios, reports, or queries utilizing appropriate tools
- Support, document, and maintain Workday configuration of third-party vendors for our HR Platform functional footprint
- Assist and collaborate with technical teams in the review, testing, and implementation of system upgrades or patches
- Document integration processes as well as results across other teams in HR Systems and Technology
- Present and defend functional and technical solutions
- Work with Quality Assurance team to determine all necessary testing is accounted for and documented
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Generally requires 1-3 years related experience in Workday systems implementation and support
- Awareness of process design and redesign skills
- Awareness of, knowledge of, and ability to apply project management skills
- Awareness of new enhancement packages, competitive applications and products, and ability to recommend features
- Able to provide feedback regarding best possible user experience for application users
- Well versed in Microsoft Office applications with focus on Excel and PowerPoint for presentation development
- Experience with HP Octane for ticket management and test case execution and tracking is preferred but not required
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary

Pay
The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $85,000 or the hourly equivalent. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications.
