Workday HCM Data Consultant
About the role
As a Workday HCM Data Consultant at Kainos, you’ll be a key part of the team implementing and configuring enterprise-scale Workday solutions for our global customer base. You will specialize in gathering and transforming customer organizational and employee data prior to loading it into Workday tenants. You’ll build relationships with customers to understand their data needs, leading the delivery of solutions that are aligned with their requirements, fit for purpose, and commercially viable.
You’ll work closely with other functional team leads and stakeholders to keep implementations on track and lead the data workstream. You’ll also support education and growth in Workday Data Consulting within the Kainos Workday practice, acting as a knowledgeable expert in data consulting.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and transform customer organizational and employee data for Workday implementations.
- Lead the data workstream on Workday projects, collaborating with functional team leads and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain customer relationships to assess data needs and manage expectations.
- Communicate complex data solutions to customers and colleagues with impact and credibility.
- Present to senior client audiences and lead workshops to explain solutions.
- Support the sales process by producing estimates for work packages.
- Implement improvements in tools and processes to enhance the Workday practice.
- Act as a subject matter expert in Workday Data Consulting, aiding education and growth within the team.
- Travel to customer sites within the region (minimal out-of-region travel may be required).
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and experience in data analysis, manipulation, reporting, and formatting.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to spot errors in large data sets.
- Strong customer focus, with the ability to assess needs, build relationships, and manage expectations.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and make balanced decisions under pressure.
- Strong consulting skills, including presenting, leading workshops, and explaining complex solutions.
- Commercial understanding of utilization within a services organization.
- Ability to rotate through various Workday delivery services, including Consulting and Application Management Services.
Qualifications
- Workday HCM or Financials certification (desirable).
- Understanding of data formatting differences across jurisdictions and countries (desirable).

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and colleagues effectively, including in remote settings.
- Broad business and technology awareness, with an understanding of industry trends.
- Ability to widen and maintain a network of external contacts.
- Willingness to support the sales process and contribute to practice improvements.
