Workday HCM Data Consultant
About the role
As a Workday HCM Data Consultant at Kainos, you’ll be a key part of the team implementing and configuring enterprise-scale Workday solutions for our global customer base. You’ll specialize in gathering and transforming customer organizational and employee data before loading it into Workday tenants. Building relationships with customers, you’ll understand their data needs and lead the delivery of solutions that are aligned, fit for purpose, and commercially viable. You’ll collaborate closely with functional team leads and stakeholders to keep implementations on track and lead the data workstream. You’ll also support education and growth in Workday Data Consulting within the Kainos Workday practice.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, manipulate, report, and format data for Workday implementations.
- Assess customer data needs, build relationships, and manage expectations.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, including remote teams and senior client audiences.
- Present complex solutions, lead workshops, and demonstrate functionality to customers.
- Work to tight deadlines, balancing customer demands and commercial viability.
- Maintain a network of external contacts and support the sales process, including producing estimates for work packages.
- Implement improvements in tools and processes to benefit the practice.
- Rotate through Workday delivery services, including Consulting and Application Management Services.
- Travel to customer sites within the region (minimal out-of-region travel may be required).
- Become a subject matter expert in Workday Data Consulting and support team growth.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and experience in data analysis, manipulation, reporting, and formatting.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to spot errors in large data sets.
- Strong customer focus and ability to manage expectations, including knowing when to push back or escalate.
- Strong communication skills, including formal presentations to senior client audiences.
- Broad business and technology understanding, with awareness of industry trends.
- Ability to work under pressure and make balanced decisions.
- Strong consulting skills, including leading workshops and explaining complex solutions.
- Commercial understanding of utilization within a services organization.
Qualifications
- Workday HCM or Financials certification (desirable).
- Understanding of data formatting differences across jurisdictions and countries (desirable).
