Workday Functional Analyst
About the role
The Workday Functional Analyst assists with the design, configuration, solutioning, and management of Workday to support the Benefits and Time Tracking & Absence modules. This includes gathering, analyzing and documenting business or system processes, requirements and performing the Workday (WD) configurations. This role works closely with all Project and Business team members throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize Workday's Benefits, Time Tracking and Absence modules, including configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
- Partner with developers on Workday Studio integrations; analyze and troubleshoot benefits vendor integrations.
- Create and maintain reports, calculated fields, and dashboards to support operational and business needs.
- Provide technical support to end users by investigating and resolving incidents as needed.
- Elicit, capture and document requirements. Prepare and maintain documentation utilizing user stories, use cases, diagrams, or other requirement management templates and tools.
- Understand and demonstrate knowledge in applying appropriate requirements elicitation techniques (interviews, surveys, brainstorming sessions, etc.).
- Understand the features, functions, and capabilities of HCM and Financial solutions to ensure alignment with business requirements and effective utilization of system capabilities.
- Complete assignments within expected timeframes. Produce high-quality artifacts with minimal level of re-work by leveraging peer reviews to ensure the accuracy of deliverables and adherence to standards.
- Review artifacts produced by team members and provide constructive feedback. Regularly confirm expectations and proactively provide due dates for assignments. Proactively communicate the status of assignments and escalate gaps/issues that may impact targeted timeframes for deliverables.
- Participate in testing activities.
- Proactively seek mentoring from senior team members.
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Workday platform across various functional areas of the application's current implementations, as well as available features and functionality.
- Through self-study and mentoring, remain informed of industry-wide trends and departmental/company strategic initiatives.
- Actively contribute to design of solutions by providing SME support.
- Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives for the individual, functional group/team, department or organization to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Work with vendors and senior team members to implement solutions that support NJM's current and future needs.
- Research and identify new features within Workday functions that could add value to existing solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years hands-on configuration experience in the Benefits and Time Tracking & Absence Workday modules.
- 2-4 years' experience with Workday reporting and EIBs.
- Knowledge and experience of multiple project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Benefits
Pay Range: $100,402-$116,574.
