Workday Financials Business Analyst

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Workday banking functions, including bank account structures, connectivity settings, and payment file formats to support daily operations.
• Oversee reconciliation activities by aligning bank transactions with accounting records and resolving discrepancies that affect cash reporting and ledger accuracy.
• Support treasury processes such as cash transfers, liquidity tracking, pooling activity, and intercompany movement within the Workday environment.
• Gather and document business needs from Finance, Treasury, IT, and banking partners, translating operational requirements into clear functional specifications.
• Lead functional workstreams by monitoring timelines, surfacing risks, and driving issue resolution to keep deliverables on schedule.
• Persistently partner with stakeholders to improve cash-to-book workflows and strengthen controls around banking transactions and financial reporting.
• Analyze banking-related system behavior and recommend configuration or process adjustments that enhance efficiency and data integrity.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience supporting or configuring Workday Banking functions in a finance or treasury setting.
• Strong accounting knowledge, including how banking activity impacts the general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement reporting.
• Practical experience with treasury operations such as bank account management, cash positioning, and cash movement controls.
• Background in business analysis with the ability to create detailed requirements documentation and support cross-functional delivery.
• Proven skill in managing priorities, tracking project risks, and coordinating with multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong analytical ability with close attention to transaction accuracy, process quality, and control effectiveness.
• Experience with enterprise banking or treasury platforms such as Oracle, SAP, or PeopleSoft is valued when paired with foundational Workday knowledge.
