Work-Study Assistant (Residential Student Technicians) | Office of Housing & Residence Life-1
About the role
Residential Student Technicians (RSTs) support the daily operations of the Office of Housing & Residence Life by providing customer service, administrative assistance, operational support, and engagement initiatives that contribute to a safe, welcoming, and student-centered residential community. Assignments vary based on departmental needs and may include front desk operations, office support, residential life/education, facilities support, summer conferences or special events, special projects, and other departmental initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Assist with front desk operations, office coverage, and administrative tasks.
- Answer phones, emails, and general housing inquiries.
- Support residence hall opening, closing, move-in, and move-out processes.
- Assist with educational, social, and departmental events.
- Report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to professional staff.
- Provide logistical and set-up/tear down support for event spaces.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and university policies.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Prairie View A&M University student.
- Eligible for Federal Work-Study.
- Good academic (minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA) and disciplinary standing.
- Ability to work up to 20 hours per week.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
