WordPress Developer
About the role
The WordPress Developer will lead the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of Cyberhill's WordPress websites. This individual should have a strong eye for design, excellent front-end development skills, and experience translating Figma mockups into responsive, accessible, and high-performing websites. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats—combining UX thinking, visual design, and technical implementation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive WordPress websites and landing pages
- Build custom WordPress themes and modify existing themes as needed
- Develop custom functionality using PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and WordPress APIs
- Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive web experiences
- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to improve user experience and conversion rates
- Optimize websites for speed, SEO, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals
- Integrate third-party tools, APIs, CRM platforms, forms, and marketing automation systems
- Troubleshoot website issues and perform ongoing maintenance, updates, and security enhancements
- Maintain version control using Git and follow development best practices
- Recommend improvements to website architecture, user experience, and functionality
- Stay current with WordPress, UI/UX, accessibility, and web development trends
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- 4+ years of professional WordPress development experience
- Strong proficiency with: WordPress CMS, PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3/SASS, MySQL
- Experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins
- Strong front-end development skills with responsive design experience
- Experience working from Figma designs
- Working knowledge of Git version control
- Experience optimizing websites for SEO and performance
- Strong understanding of web accessibility (WCAG) best practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Graphic or web design experience
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, or similar)
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles
- Experience with Elementor, Gutenberg, or other modern page builders
- Experience integrating HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or CRM platforms
- Familiarity with hosting environments such as WP Engine, Pantheon, or AWS
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Knowledge of basic animation libraries or interactive web experiences
- Experience supporting B2B technology or government-focused organizations
