Woodworker I

VSR Industries has been a world leader for over 50 years in the casino gaming industry, manufacturing high-security locks, custom-fabricated sheet metal, and wood products. Corporate headquarters and manufacturing plants are located in Henderson, NV.

Responsibilities

• Work from blueprints, specifications, drawings, and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain, and/or repair structures.
• Determine materials and equipment required for work orders based on blueprints and sketches.
• Prepare layouts and mark cutting/assembly lines on materials.
• Cut materials to measurements using chop saws, table saws, and trim routers.
• Assemble cut materials and fasten together with brackets, screws, and/or nails.
• Mark, cut, and shape materials to prescribed measurements; assemble by fastening with nails, staples, dowels, or glue.
• Fit, install, and maintain finished hardware such as locks and kick plates.
• Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications.
• Participate in the maintenance and operation of the wood shop.
• Maintain and repair hand or power tools and equipment of the carpentry trade by cleaning, oiling, setting, or other processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in remodeling wood structures, furniture repair, or construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic math skills and ability to accurately use a tape measure.
• Experience using basic hand tools (preferred).
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Familiarity with dowel construction, butt joint construction, and dao construction methods.
• Good eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to understand basic directions in English (required).
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check are required.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for up to 8 hours daily.
• Vision abilities require close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.
• May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
