About the role

Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs. Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results. Acquires patient’s clinical history and provides accurate documentation for invasive procedures. Documents patient weight, blood pressure and other pertinent information depending on patient status. Assesses sonographic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of perinatal ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
  • Ability to perform fetal Doppler studies, 3D/4D image rendering, fetal echocardiography, and nuchal translucency screening.
  • Ability to analyze fetal anatomy in all stages of gestation for anomalies and fetal well-being.
  • Ability to appropriately image the maternal reproductive anatomy for anomalies including transvaginal ultrasound.
  • Knowledge of urogynocology ultrasound procedures focusing on pelvic floor studies which may include invasive procedures.
  • Ability to perform urodynamic studies independently.
  • Knowledge of specific specialty ultrasound procedural needs with experience in invasive procedures.
  • Ability to perform clinically focused studies independently as deemed necessary by physician.
  • Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Record systems including the extrapolation and inclusion of procedural studies in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to capture all clinical diagnostic information in a seamless manner is required.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
  • A history of working with a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist, Urogynocologist and/or other specialty trained physicians in the past [Preferred]

Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
  • 3+ experience in either obstetric and perinatal sonography, urogynocology sonography and/or other specialized diagnostic studies [Preferred]
  • 3+ sonographer experience, and a documented track record of leadership experience. [Required]

Qualifications

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) [Required]
  • OR Registered Radiology Technologist RT(R)(ARRT) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Skills

  • Knowledge of perinatal and urogynocology ultrasound procedures.
  • Ability to perform fetal and maternal imaging procedures.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Effective communication skills.
