Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Clerk
Brief Description
The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Clerk provides excellent customer care to staff and participants. The Clerk manages clerical functions to support the WIC team and keeps participant records accurate and current.
Responsibilities
- Provides excellent services, information, and support to participants and colleagues on the phone and in person.
- Manages WIC Certifier and Registered Dietitian appointment schedules according to established procedures.
- Affords assistance to prospective and current WIC participants with eligibility and benefit explanations.
- Manages in-state and out-of-state transfer requests.
- Interprets for WIC staff, when needed.
Requirements
- Ability to read and speak Spanish and/or Russian is required.
- Possesses a basic level of written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills, and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of a high school program.
Job duties
- Specific knowledge of WIC Cascades system processes and practices, typically learned "on the job," or which may include a series of training sessions that would comprise a few weeks if done consecutively.
- Must have reliable transportation and provide documentation of auto insurance and valid driver's license as required.
- Travel between work sites required.
