Women Center Imaging Assistant - Per Diem - Day

About the Role

Assists the mammography technologist by performing a variety of tasks, including processing paperwork, preparing processed images for radiologist interpretation, and ensuring proper storage for safekeeping. Enters computer data, manages exam orders, and coordinates the flow of films and patients. Maintains clerical supplies, examination rooms, and changing areas while supporting patients before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of exam orders, patient folders, reports, and schedules.
• Fax reports and place reminder calls.
• Answer telephone calls and manage patient flow between waiting rooms and exam rooms.
• Assist patients with applicable needs and support technologists as required.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for staff and patients.
• Manage department linen and waiting room upkeep.
• Prepare processed images and paperwork for radiologist interpretation.
• Manage radiologist calls as needed.
• Operate digital workstations and department-required systems (Clinstar, PHS, MRS, PACS, HPF, CD burners, and cyraphone).
• Scan patient data into HPF.
• Complete e-learnings on time.
• Participate in departmental employee and patient satisfaction initiatives.
• Engage in outreach and community educational programs.
• Adhere to Joint Commission regulations and HMH organizational competencies.
• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Basic knowledge of hospital computer systems, including PACS, digital mammography review workstations, cyraphone, and CD burners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a medical setting.
• Prior experience in a mammography or radiology setting.

Pay

Minimum starting rate of $17.57 per hour. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding. Full-time and part-time positions (20+ hours/week) may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
