Sr. Imaging Assistant, Per Diem, Day Shift
About the role

Responsibilities
- Safely transports patients (with and without oxygen, as appropriate) between their rooms and the diagnostic imaging department.
- Assists patients from wheelchair to exam table, stretcher or toilet and back as needed.
- Provides direct patient care as directed by technologists or radiologists, including starting/flushing appropriate IV access on patients as needed.
- Verifies orders for exams to be performed and confirms patient lab work is within safe limits for exam to be performed.
- Processes paperwork and develops and assembles films in preparation for reading.
- Affixes to the imaging clerical staff as needed.
- Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
- Serves as a liaison between technologists and unit nursing staff.
- Performs all duties related to the hand off of care between the imaging department and hospital unit, recognizing and reporting abnormal, emergent or unusual signs and symptoms based on patient population and common diagnoses (change in vital signs, intake, output, patient complaints, etc.).
- Assists with managing the imaging department's patient flow.
- Sets up procedural trays using sterile techniques and prepares contrast injectors for exams.
- Keeps stretchers and wheelchairs clean and neatly stored, blanket warmers and linens stocked, exam rooms tidy and equipment clean.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Two years' customer service experience in a healthcare setting: Preferred Five years' experience as an Imaging Assistant: Preferred
Qualifications
- Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
Skills
- Knowledge of patient care procedures and protocols.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Basic computer skills for processing paperwork and developing films.

Pay
The estimated base pay for this position is $17.68 to $26.51. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
