About the role
Scientific employee (m/w/d) for the field of hydrogeological consulting - landfills/contaminated sites in the L3.3 "Groundwater protection, contaminated sites, landfills" section. Permanent part-time position (50%) in Hanover.
Responsibilities
- Review and assessment of fundamental and, in particular, complex geoscientific expert reports submitted by applicants for hydrogeological exploration
- Evaluation, assessment, and monitoring of landfill and soil protection projects
- Discussion and review of complex soil protection issues
- Hydrogeological consulting and public representation of the LBEG on complex hydrogeological issues through oral and written statements
- Preparation of reports and geoscientific studies, including presentations
Requirements
- University degree (Master's or equivalent) in Geosciences, Environmental Sciences with a focus on Hydrogeology or Groundwater, or a comparable field of study
- In-depth knowledge and professional experience in assessing hydrogeological issues at landfill and contaminated site locations
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legal areas including waste law, the Federal Soil Protection Act, and water law
- Knowledge of groundwater and solute transport models
- Independent and structured work style
- Organizational skills and negotiation skills
- Communication skills
- German language skills (comparable to level C1 of the CEFR)
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of the geology and hydrogeology of northern Germany
