Wire Technician II - CO
About the role

As a Controls Wiring Technician II based in Loveland, CO, you will assemble, install, and maintain electrical control systems under the direction of the Controls and Wiring Team Lead. You’ll contribute to building high-quality control circuits, wiring industrial switchboards, constructing control panels, and ensuring compliance with safety and production standards. Your level will be determined based on experience, technical proficiency, and leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Interpret electrical schematics and diagrams from the Team Lead or Engineering.
- Independently wire control panels and switchboards, build circuit sub-assemblies, install and terminate cables, connectors, and devices, and assist in building and maintaining circuit bills of materials.
- Perform continuity checks and basic testing with multimeters.
- Ensure components and assemblies meet required quality, environmental, and safety regulations and standards through regular inspections and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with UL891 and NFPA 70E standards.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production planning to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
- Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure team members use necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Continuously evaluate processes and procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement and waste elimination by ensuring standardized work, process adjustments, and compliance with safety and 5S requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of production data in Epicor, work progress, and any issues encountered during fabrication.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to design and refine control circuits and panel layouts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to wiring, components, and control systems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, electrical wiring, or controls assembly.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with wire gauges, ampacities, and enclosure ratings.
- Multimeter proficiency for testing and troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness to work overtime and support team goals.
Qualifications
- UL891 production and MTR experience.
- NFPA 70E training certification.
- AutoCAD or equivalent schematic software proficiency.
- ISO documentation familiarity.
- Leadership or mentoring experience.
