About the role
Our Penn State Health Winter Nurse Externship program is an immersive 4‑week program (December 14, 2026 – January 9, 2027) designed to give participants hands‑on experience, expert mentorship, and a real‑world look at nursing before graduation. Due to the intensive nature of this opportunity, spots are limited, ensuring each participant is prepared to take the next steps in their nursing journey. The first three days are mandatory for orientation. Penn State Health offers exceptional opportunities to learn and grow, exposure to a wide patient population, and the ability to provide individualized, innovative, and specialized care to patients in the community. Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center brings acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties. The facility features 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building.
