The Penn State Health Winter Nurse Externship is an immersive 4‑week program (December 14, 2026 – January 9, 2027) that provides hands‑on experience, expert mentorship, and a real‑world look at nursing before graduation. Due to the intensive nature of the opportunity, spots are limited to ensure each participant is prepared for the next steps in their nursing journey. The first three days (December 14–16, 2026) are mandatory orientation.

Requirements

• Eligibility for shift differential pay based on company policy or union contract
• All selected candidates must undergo a background check appropriate for the position’s responsibilities

Qualifications

• Nursing student of an accredited Nursing Program with at least one clinical rotation
• Graduate Nurse without Boards required
