Winter Nurse Externship

Role Overview: The Nurse Extern participates in clinical work under RN supervision, assisting with individualized patient care and performing designated procedures within the extern scope. Key Responsibilities Rotate through various units to gain hands-on experience.Support both direct and indirect patient care activities.Perform clinical procedures such as IV therapy, Foley care, NG tube care, specimen collection, dressing changes, and assessments.Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote patient wellness. Qualifications & Skills Enrolled in an approved nursing program with at least 2 semesters completed, including clinicals.High school diploma or G.E.D., with transcripts and competency skills documentation if requested.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks required in clinical settings. Additional Information: This paid externship offers approximately 36 hours per week over a 4-week session, with opportunities to build confidence, enhance clinical skills, and gain exposure to diverse patient populations.
