Winter Nurse Externship

Position: Nurse Extern student participating in a clinical externship under the supervision of an RN, providing individualized patient care and performing designated clinical procedures within the extern scope. Responsibilities: Rotating through various units to gain hands-on experience, assisting with direct and indirect patient care, and supporting the healthcare team. Key skills include IV therapy, Foley care, NG tube care, point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, dressing changes, and assessments. Qualifications: Current enrollment in an approved nursing program with at least two semesters completed, including clinicals. Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D., and BLS certification. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform various movements required for patient care. Key Skills: Critical thinking, teamwork, clinical skills development, and confidence building in an acute care setting.
