About the role

Under general supervision, employees in various roles perform specialized tasks within their departments. Dispatchers handle communications and dispatch public safety units, Transport Officers transport inmates, Maintenance I/Service Technicians perform building maintenance, and Highway Design Engineers manage civil engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Clerk II (Office Support Specialist): Performs complex office support functions, typing technical terminology, and resolving work problems.
• Dispatchers - Temporary, Part-Time: Receives and transmits information, dispatches public safety units, and tracks activity in a real-time mode.
• Transport Officers: Perform law enforcement work including jail functions, responsible for transporting inmates, and handling personal danger.
• Dispatchers: Perform skilled technical communications work, dispatching public safety units, and making independent decisions in response to calls for service.
• Maintenance I/Service Technician: Performs a variety of building maintenance duties, including repairs and operating power equipment.
• Highway Design Engineer: Performs and manages skilled civil engineering work in surveying, design, and construction of county road and bridge projects.

Requirements

• Clerk II (Office Support Specialist): Knowledge of general office methods and equipment, communication skills, and sufficient knowledge to be the primary reference source on the assigned subject.
• Dispatchers - Temporary, Part-Time: Ability to track activity in a real-time mode using a computer-aided dispatch system.
• Transport Officers: Responsibility for transporting inmates and handling personal danger.
• Dispatchers: Independent decision-making in dispatching public safety personnel and equipment.
• Maintenance I/Service Technician: Performing repairs and operating power equipment during snowstorms, flooding, or other inclement conditions.
