Winery Retail Sales Assistant - Reserve

Essential Job Duties

• Greet and welcome guests.
• Do everything possible to make their visit memorable and pleasant.
• Efficient handling of large sums of money.
• Open and close the retail shops.
• Dust and keep the shop in an appealing condition.
• Familiarize yourself with merchandise whenever possible during the day.
• Work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Provide exceptional guest service.
• Promote Wine Club to all guests.
• Prepare food samples, maintain samples throughout the course of the day, and take down samples when the shop closes.
• Exhibit proper phone etiquette.
• Execute merchandise and wine mail orders with accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous retail and/or customer service experience strongly preferred.
• The ideal candidate will have had at least six (6) months of prior retail or guest service experience in an upscale/luxury setting.
• Exceptional guest relations and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills and the ability to operate a cash register/point of sale (POS) system.
• Previous experience with cash handling is helpful.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing world-class guest service.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, guest service environment as part of a team.
• Ability to anticipate guest needs, be proactive, and take initiative where appropriate.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and multitask.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting to 50 pounds maximum with frequent bending, lifting, and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Requires walking/standing for extended periods of time.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
• The employee may work indoors or outside with fluctuations in temperature and conditions.
