Windows Server Engineer

Location: Plano, TX (hybrid – 3 days per week onsite)
Duration: 18-month contract with likely conversion to full-time employee (FTE)
Employment type: Direct W2 only (no C2C)

About the role

We are seeking a Windows Infrastructure Automation Engineer to help modernize and automate enterprise Windows server platforms. This role focuses on engineering and automation initiatives, including automated image creation, OS deployment, patch management, infrastructure remediation, and platform standardization. This is not a traditional operational support role.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated Windows Server images and deployment pipelines
• Develop and enhance PowerShell scripts for infrastructure automation
• Engineer and support Jenkins pipelines for continuous integration and delivery
• Standardize and remediate Windows server platforms across the enterprise
• Manage Windows patching, server lifecycle, and operating-system engineering
• Collaborate within Agile and DevOps environments
• Support VMware infrastructure as part of the Windows ecosystem

Requirements

• 5+ years of Windows Server engineering experience
• Expertise with current enterprise versions of Windows Server
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience
• Experience building images with Packer
• Experience developing and supporting Jenkins pipelines
• Familiarity with GitHub and/or Bitbucket
• Experience supporting VMware infrastructure
• Strong understanding of Windows patching, server lifecycle management, and operating systems engineering

Pay

$70.24 – $70.24/hr
