About the Role
A Windows Server Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022), monitoring performance, and optimizing resources.
Responsibilities
- Managing Microsoft Active Directory, including domain controllers, user/group management, DNS, DHCP, and GPO deployment.
- Administering virtualized environments using VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V for scalable infrastructure.
- Implementing automated patching, updates, and OS deployments via MECM/SCCM and WSUS.
- Hardening servers according to DISA STIGs and remediating vulnerabilities identified by ACAS/Nessus scans.
- Maintaining enterprise backup solutions, ensuring data integrity, and participating in Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience in Information Systems Security or 8 years of experience without a degree.
- Experience with security accreditation processes, ICD 503 standards, and creating accreditation evidence.
- Proven ability to meet security requirements, collaborate with large teams, and manage complex network documentation.
- Strong technical, network, and security documentation skills.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Ability to perform occasional manual labor, lift up to 50 pounds, and remain stationary for periods.
Skills
- Preferred: CISSP certification and experience with cyber risk and compliance tools.
