Window Field Technician

Full‑time position, $28 – $32 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and provide accurate measurements of doors and windows.
• Perform timely, quality repairs of customers’ products, including screen installation, sash replacement, glass replacement, hardware replacement, and seal repairs.
• Coordinate required return visits and convey needed services, materials, and labor.
• Perform post‑installation inspections.
• Anticipate obstacles that could impact customer expectations, job costs, or code performance and recommend solutions.
• Promote the company’s services.
• Maintain technical and mechanical skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in the industry.
• Previous experience servicing windows and doors.
• Experience with exterior replacement products.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the insurance company.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capacity to manage overtime on service calls without rushing the job.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to diagnose and solve problems based on non‑technical customer descriptions.
• Strong working knowledge of industry equipment and tools.
• Physical fitness to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and bend frequently.
• Willingness to travel within the radius of UWD locations.
