About the Role

We are hiring a Winding Operator to join our team on second shift at our Hanover Plant 2 facility. The role involves operating spiral winders, cut-off saws, and other equipment to produce high-quality paper tubes and cores according to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate spiral winder and cut-off saws to fill customer orders.
• Read and understand spec sheets and production orders to set up machines correctly.
• Measure, caliper, and check product tolerances per spec sheet to ensure quality.
• Understand machine operations to cut products to customer specifications.
• Operate machines efficiently to minimize waste.
• Analyze packaging and make adjustments as needed.
• Identify quality deficiencies and perform corrective actions.
• Communicate finished product details on production orders.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Accept supervision and assistance for machine set-up and other tasks.
• Lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, and twist throughout the workday.
• Thread winders to produce quality cores using various layers of paper.
• Perform the Snake Lace technique continuously to secure tubes for transport.
• Tie bundles, pack boxes, and stand products on end.

Requirements

• High school education or GED.
• 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

Starting rate of pay: $29.62/hour.

Schedule

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM (including overtime).
