This role reports to the Service Director and is a strategic position accountable for building long-term customer relationships, driving optimized operations, fiscal management, and hub safety. The Wind Hub Manager leads a hub team, manages daily operations, turbine output, and exemplifies excellence in leadership, safety, quality control, and financial oversight. The role partners closely with customers to ensure alignment with GE operational excellence and oversees all resources and logistics required for services and maintenance activities on customer sites.

About the role

As the Wind Hub Manager for Bennington, Blooming Grove, and Top Hat Wind farms in Central Illinois, you will:

  • People Leadership: Provide leadership to support a multi-site service hub, including staffing, coaching, training, corrective action, and succession planning. Own the safety culture within the hub for employees, contracted partners, and customers. Execute daily Plan of the Day calls to prioritize and manage the dispatch schedule.
  • Customer Point of Contact: Adopt a customer-focused approach to build long-term relationships, deliver business objectives, and meet contractual requirements. Partner with the Customer Performance Manager, escalate customer concerns, and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Commercial Operations, Sourcing, Finance, and HR.
  • Turbine Return to Service: Prioritize turbine performance to meet or exceed performance commitments.
  • Multi-site Leadership: Lead operations across multiple sites, ensuring weekly visits to each location. Drive safety, grow customer relationships, and foster team engagement and development through innovative problem-solving and LEAN thinking.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including leadership.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in field services or an equivalent role in the energy industry.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the hub, including overnight stays.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Desired Characteristics

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field.
  • Advanced computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control and management systems, and diagnostic/troubleshooting tools.
  • Wind turbine or energy industry experience.
  • Advanced electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience, including the use of hydraulic power tools.
  • Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance, including knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
  • Strong writing skills to meet contractual reporting obligations.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Operations and Maintenance best practices, including planning, organizing, coordinating, executing, and controlling wind hub activities, productivity improvements, and operational excellence in outage management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to embrace and adapt to change and influence others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability, willingness, and adaptability to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside the Wind Hub.

Pay

The pay range for this U.S.-based position is $91,400.00 to $152,200.00. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility includes a discretionary annual bonus.

Relocation assistance is provided. This is a remote position.
