About the role
Join the nation's largest infrastructure developer as a Wind Field Service Technician. You will be the critical front line to ensure the safe and optimal performance of all wind farm operations, focusing on field-based equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and long-term reliability and profitability. This role is based at the Cedar Springs site in Douglas, WY, and requires 100% travel within the area supporting multiple wind, battery storage, and solar sites.
Responsibilities
- Implement Operation Safety Policy Instructions and conduct fieldwork in compliance with OSHA regulations
- Encourage good employee safety practices and drive an unparalleled employee safety culture
- Participate in Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects
- Recruit and develop other technicians for team growth
- Support the site manager for safety, environmental, financial reporting, and turbine availability
- Collaborate with internal NextEra users to develop operation-focused feedback and solutions for maintenance, improvement projects, and financial performance
- Present a positive professional representation of NextEra Energy in the community and with customers
- Travel extensively with little or no notice within the entire company fleet
- Perform maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment
- Conduct electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Maintain all company-supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling
- Complete Safety Mentor training curriculum within 6 months of hire
- Complete Wind Field Service Technician III training curriculum within the first year
- Meet attendance requirements
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License (non-CDL)
- Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet
- Post-offer Functional Capacity Evaluation
