About the role

Sets-up and maintains the condition of the department according to company standards. Consistently provides friendly, courteous customer service to internal and external customers. Ensure product quality and selection. Performs other related work. Generally works 6–8 hour shifts between 4:00 am and 11:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes, engages, serves and thanks customers; maintains an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service.
• Performs receiving duties: verifies orders against invoices; reports shortages and claims; breaks down loads and dates product; cuts cases; stacks, prices and marks merchandise; maintains produce storage area.
• Ensures proper merchandising for freshness and quality by proper handling to minimize damage and spoilage, building produce displays, rotating stock, discarding outdated or spoiled product, ensuring proper pricing and signing.
• Uses related equipment such as box cutters, compactors, hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Maintains cleanliness and eye-appeal of work area, storage area, and selling floor.
• Ensures safe, secure work environment and performs duties with honesty and integrity.

Requirements

• Perform basic math (add, subtract, divide and multiply) and compute weights and measures.
• Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Conduct visual inspection of product and displays; read written material; communicate in writing.
• Reach, lift and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs. frequently; push and pull fully loaded handtrucks and pallet jacks.
• Stand for long periods, walk and move rapidly, bend, twist and turn frequently; operate related equipment with manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
• Work with hands exposed to ice, moisture, fruits and vegetables; wear hats, hairnets, gloves and other PPE as required.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Food Handlers Certification (per state laws).
