Location: Lavergne, TN – Department of Wildlife Resources Agency, Rutherford County Wildlife Division. One full-time, on-site position.

Pay

$3,380 – $5,249 per month ($40,560 – $62,988 annually).

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience in wildlife conservation, forestry, farming, or a closely related field; qualifying coursework at an accredited college or university may substitute year-for-year.
• Valid motor-vehicle operator’s license at time of appointment; some positions require a commercial driver’s license/endorsement upon appointment.
• Driver record must show no DUI, reckless-driving, license-suspension for moving violations, or more than four moving violations in the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Assist Wildlife Managers with fish-population studies and electro-fishing.
• Collect fish data through creel surveys and interviews with anglers.
• Conduct seasonal forestry and conservation tasks: planting tree seedlings, suppressing forest fires, and maintaining recreational facilities.
• Operate and service equipment (forklifts, tractors, bulldozers, watercraft, passenger vehicles).
• Construct and maintain buildings, storage sheds, roads, bridges, and trails on agency-controlled lands.
• Assist with wildlife-population studies and plant/grow crops to feed wildlife.
