Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith. Applicants must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, subscribe to Young Life’s statements and policies, and commit to ministry functions both during and outside working hours.
About the Role
This part-time position focuses on spiritual development, leadership training, resource development, direct ministry, and administrative support within the Young Life community.
Responsibilities
- Spiritual Development
- Develop and follow a yearly personal growth plan for spiritual disciplines, prayer, and scripture engagement.
- Maintain active participation in a church community and the spiritual life of Young Life.
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual growth initiatives.
- Leadership Development
- Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership to provide care, training, and vision casting.
- Recruit, train, and build a leadership team reflective of the community.
- Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping for other leaders.
- Resource Development
- Raise financial support and maintain donor care practices.
- Communicate ministry updates to donor partners.
- Assist with camp fundraisers and attend committee/adult functions as assigned.
- Direct Ministry
- Engage in contact work at all three levels (club, Campaigners, and camp).
- Lead or co-lead a Young Life club and discipleship ministry with excellence.
- Implement summer and school-season camping strategies.
- Potentially serve on summer staff or at a Young Life property as directed.
- Ministry Support
- Adhere to Young Life policies, including office hours, conduct, and time management.
- Set and review yearly ministry and personal goals.
- Assist with office administration and complete expense reports in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties aligned with gifts, experience, and area needs.
- Training
- Participate in regional training events as required by the regional director.
- Complete job assignments under the supervision of the area director or mentor.
- Receive individualized training to develop spiritual maturity and ministry skills (e.g., The 5 C’s).
- Familiarize yourself with area strategy, ministry health, and personal fundraising principles.
- Engage in Young Life discipleship experiences (e.g., summer staff, adventure camping).
Requirements
- Proven relational skills with both youth and adults.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Pursuing or holding a college degree (preferred).
Pay
The anticipated salary for this position is $750 per month, depending on education, experience, and location.
Schedule
This is a part-time role requiring 10 hours per week for the 2026-27 school year.
