Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith. Applicants must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, and subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff.
About the role
This is a part-time position for 10 hours/week during the 2026-27 school year. Employees and volunteers are expected to fulfill ministry functions, refrain from conduct detracting from biblical standards, and abide by all Young Life policies.
Responsibilities
- Ministry Functions
- Spiritual Development: Develop a yearly personal growth plan, maintain church relationships, participate in Young Life’s spiritual community, and lead teams in spiritual development.
- Leadership Development: Meet regularly with volunteer leaders, recruit and train new leaders, model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping, and participate in area leadership.
- Resource Development: Raise financial support, maintain donor relationships, communicate ministry updates, and assist with camp fundraisers and committee functions.
- Direct Ministry: Engage in contact work, lead Young Life club and Campaigners, implement camping strategies, and potentially serve on summer staff at a Young Life property.
- Ministry Support: Adhere to Young Life policies, set yearly goals, assist with office administration, complete expense reports, and perform other assigned duties.
- Regional Training: Attend required regional training events as directed by the regional director.
- Area Training:
- Work through job assignments under the supervision of the area director or mentor.
- Receive individualized training to develop spiritual maturity and ministry skills (e.g., The 5 C’s).
- Become familiar with area strategy and ministry health.
- Learn personal fund-raising principles, including familiarity with Basic Elements for Part-Time Staff.
- Participate in Young Life discipleship experiences (e.g., summer staff, discipleship focus, adventure camping).
Requirements
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Pursuing a college degree.
Pay
The anticipated salary for this position is $750/month, depending on relevant education, experience, and location.
