Wild Ridge - Housekeeping Supervisor
About the role
The Housekeeping Supervisor at Wild Ridge Camp is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of all buildings and facilities, ensuring they meet high standards. This role involves training and managing a team of housekeepers, maintaining supplies, and addressing any maintenance issues promptly.
Responsibilities
- Become familiar with cleanliness standards and proper cleaning procedures for all buildings.
- Inspect dorm hallways, bathrooms, porches, lounges, and walkways daily.
- Consult with work crew bosses to arrange corrections of deficiencies.
- Periodically check dorm cleaning supply closets for neatness, adequacy of supplies, and proper labeling.
- Inform the superintendent of maintenance needs.
- Inspect the dining hall daily for detail cleanliness, supply stocking, and availability of clean linen.
- Work with maintenance in the upkeep of any equipment used by housekeepers.
- Train the work crew housekeepers in partnership with the work crew bosses.
- Meet daily with work crew housekeeper bosses to coordinate cleaning efforts.
- Fill in for the work crew housekeepers on their day off, performing critical housekeeping tasks.
- Assist the work crew in thoroughly cleaning dorms on camper changeover days, including changing bed linens and carrying loads of dirty linen.
- Participate in scheduled camping staff devotionals.
Requirements
- High school education with ability to read and write English proficiently.
- Three to five years of experience as a housekeeping supervisor with a large hotel or camp property.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding the Young Life Statement of Faith.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds of linens and supplies.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties, including stooping, reaching, pulling, and lifting.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- Excellent communication skills to convey a sense of Christ-like hospitality and respond to unexpected needs.
