Width Grind Operator

Position Summary

Achieve efficient operations on various grinding and hard-machining equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Procure and use proper gauges to ensure quality meets or exceeds customer specifications.
• Operate and maintain grinding and turning machines to produce parts meeting hourly production targets.
• Perform daily machine lubrication, maintenance, and setup tasks to keep parts within tolerance and finish specifications.
• Interpret and follow drawings, instructions, routings, and specifications; install and maintain grinding wheels and inserts.
• Operate all grinding and turning machines, demonstrating proficiency in multiple skills.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and manage inventory of tooling and inserts.
• Care for company tools, adhere to safety regulations, and accurately report time and production.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition and keep work areas neat and orderly.

Basic Qualifications

• Age 18 or older.
• Eligible to work in the US.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Willingness to work any shift.
• Ability to use shop mathematics.
• Ability to interpret a variety of prints.
• Ability to plan and perform unusual and difficult work.
• Ability to make decisions involving considerable judgment.
• Willingness to work on any grinder or machining asset.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Previous ID or OD grinding experience in a bearing manufacturing environment.
• Previous hard machining experience in a bearing manufacturing environment.
• Precision gauging/inspection experience.
