Grind Operator

Duties

• Set-up and run either hand fed or automatic Centerless Grind machines
• Select grinding wheel, blade support, dress both wheels, set speeds and operate sequences

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education & experience
• Ability to analyze and accurately interpret blueprints, customer drawings and industry specification required
• Working knowledge of SPC and proficient in the use of various types of inspection equipment (micrometer, calipers, comparator, and other misc. inspection equipment) in precision measurement
• Attention to detail with ability to think and act analytically and use mathematics to meet job requirements
• Able to accurately apply shop math to job duties
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Strong interpersonal skills including listening, speaking and writing
• Effective team member, willing to work and communicate with all levels of the business
• Excellent attendance record, including punctuality
• Able to work overtime as required including weekends when needed
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Able to stand 90% - 100% of shift
