WIDS Specialist Level I
This position supports Amentum’s Skywalker program, providing technical support for Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) operations. The WIDS Specialist Level I assists in administering the Bastille WIDS platform, Monitoring & Response (M&R) activities, analyzing wireless threats, and ensuring compliance with DoD and IC requirements.
About the role
The WIDS Specialist Level I works under senior WIDS personnel and should have a foundational understanding of the Bastille WIDS system, DoD/IC wireless protocols, RF theory, and relevant National and DoD directives. Strong coordination and communication skills are essential due to the geographically separated team structure.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day WIDS operations using the Bastille platform.
- Monitor wireless environments and assist in identifying unauthorized RF activity.
- Assist with Monitoring & Response (M&R) activities and incident reporting.
- Operate wireless monitoring and direction-finding equipment under senior guidance.
- Maintain operational documentation, logs, and reporting records.
- Coordinate with WIDS Specialists and engineering teams to support system operations.
- Follow established operating procedures and security requirements.
- Support system deployments, testing, and operational readiness activities.
Requirements
- Baseline knowledge of RF theory and wireless protocols.
- Familiarity with wireless security monitoring or Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) concepts.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn WIDS technologies, monitoring procedures, and security policies.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to travel worldwide.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in technical security, wireless monitoring, or related operational environments is preferred.
Work Environment
Primarily an office setting, but may require installing sensors and wiring, which involves climbing ladders and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Pay
$110,000–$130,000 per year.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
