About the role
We are a private, not-for-profit organization that coordinates public health grants for a 26-county region in central PA. We seek a Nutrition Aide to work in the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program in Lewistown.
Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments
- Determine eligibility
- Collect data
- Conduct nutrition interviews
- Prescribe food benefits
- Perform various duties to ensure the delivery of WIC benefits, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support
Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and one year of related experience are required.
- Preferred qualifications include:
- A Nutrition and Dietetic Technician, Registered (NDTR) credential with an associate degree;
- An associate or bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, health education, or a related field;
- College-level coursework in nutrition, dietetics, public health, health education, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
These qualifications are preferred but not required.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills;
- Work well as part of a team;
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous WIC experience is preferred but not required.
- Local travel within Mifflin and Juniata Counties is required, along with some early evening and Saturday hours.
