Whey Technician 1

About the role

The Whey Process Operator will ensure that the steps for producing a product that meets TCCA's high standard of quality are taken and notify the shift supervisor when issues arise. This role involves understanding and operating whey processing equipment, managing volumes and rotations of liquid storage silos, collecting samples for performance analysis, operating and maintaining membrane systems and equipment, troubleshooting and solving processing problems, ensuring accurate records, maintaining processing areas, and adhering to safety and sanitation protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage volumes and rotations of liquid storage silos
• Collect samples of product for performance analysis
• Operate, monitor, and maintain membrane systems and equipment
• Notify shift supervisor of issues jeopardizing product quality
• Troubleshoot and solve processing problems during operation
• Ensure all records are accurate and up to date
• Maintain the processing areas, CIP room, and control room in a safe, sanitary, and efficient working order

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 0-3 years experience in food industry preferred
• Able to lift and carry 55 lbs safely
• Able to work various shifts and weekends
• Able to work in a production environment with a mild to extreme temperature range
• Able to climb stairs up to a height of 85 feet
• Able to obtain scissor lift and pallet jack certifications

Skills

• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and safety rules
• Ability to operate and maintain whey processing equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Good record-keeping abilities
