Vision

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate, and advance faster than ever.

Opportunity Summary

The US Expansion Construction team leads the design and construction of large-scale semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States. The Wet Mechanical Systems Operations Engineer is responsible for overseeing design, construction, and commissioning of wet mechanical systems for the NY expansion project. This role ensures alignment with technical standards, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness, with transition into sustaining engineering support post-commissioning.

What's Encouraged Daily

  • Oversight of third-party design and construction of wet mechanical systems including plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, and process piping.
  • Validation of engineering deliverables (e.g., P&IDs, equipment specifications, system layouts) for compliance with project and industry standards.
  • Cross-functional coordination with design firms, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure system performance, integration, and on-time delivery.
  • Quality assurance, risk assessment, and commissioning activities to ensure system reliability, safety compliance, and operational readiness.

How To Qualify

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in wet mechanical systems engineering, including plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, or process piping.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME B31.1, UPC, IPC, ASHRAE).
  • Experience reviewing engineering documentation (e.g., P&IDs, specifications, 3D models) using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional coordination with external partners and internal teams.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience supporting semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech manufacturing facility projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination, clash detection, and integrated system design workflows.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices, including energy-efficient hydronic systems and water conservation strategies.
  • Experience with control systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA) and system commissioning processes.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED AP, CPD) preferred.
