West Point VPC Team - Facility Maintenance Technician

About the role

To oversee the general upkeep of the building, infrastructure, and company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Primary
  • Vehicle mechanics and parts replacements
  • Light to heavy industrial building maintenance
  • Light to moderate industrial plumbing
  • Industrial preventative maintenance
  • Light to heavy industrial painting
• Secondary
  • Conduct facility audits, documenting all issues found at the facility
  • Assist in contacting vendors for general repairs
  • Help develop more effective maintenance procedures
  • Maintain work order systems
  • Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition
• Tertiary
  • Implement workplace safety policies and standards

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to communicate effectively with external customers and internal departments
• Skills in organizing and prioritizing work activities
• Ability to read and write and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to use hand tools
• Facility Maintenance experience
• Work Order Systems experience
• High School Diploma/G.E.D required
• 4 years of direct experience in facility maintenance and/or multiple industry trades (6 years preferred)
• Experience with HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing

Working and Environmental Conditions

• Works in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting
• Ability to operate a golf cart and Glovis yard vehicles
• Precisely perform sanding, brushing touch-ups, and taping
• Position is located in the West Point VPC Site
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions
• Exposure to sanding, dust, and fumes
• Communication with employees and field partners primarily via phone and email
