About the role
Spectrum, now part of Watchfire, is a leading manufacturer of LED displays. We are seeking an Installation Technician and a Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Use a wide variety of tools to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and audits of machine condition(s) related to preventive maintenance.
- Communicate verbally, in-writing, and electronically via computer to other team members and comprehend communication received from team members in the same fashion.
- Operate machines controls and manipulate machines manually to perform troubleshooting or return machines to operating condition.
- Perform in-process diagnosis of equipment based on vibration, noise, and sight.
- Conduct research to find replacement parts, technical manuals, industry standards, vendors for repairs, etc.
- Set-up fixtures and work holding devices, check assembly clearances, assemble mechanical machine components and test for proper function.
- Replace/add fluids, greases, filters, belts, chains, etc.
- Interpret engineering prints, OEM assembly drawings, ladder diagrams, schematics, etc.
- Visually identify machine components (i.e. motor starter, disconnect, fuse, PLC, solenoid valve, linear rail, flow switch, etc.).
- Ensure that all installation vehicles and equipment are in good working order and properly maintained.
- Coordinate with contractors to manage facilities maintenance and maintain records
- Use CMMS to keep a log of all equipment repairs
- Operate all installation trucks and production equipment.
- Manage and organize expense reports for equipment repair.
- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, & crouch in and around tightly configured spaces.
- Must consistently lift and carry 10 pounds and lift and/or move 50 pounds.
- Travel to vendors and mechanic locations as necessary.
- Regular hours are daytime M-F. Priority equipment repairs may require additional hours and weekends.
Requirements
- Proficient in reading/writing/typing in English.
- Comprehend written, visual, and verbal instructions.
- Experience presenting information in small group situations.
- Excellent reasoning skills related to cause and effect.
- Excellent ability to identify critical troubleshooting details to minimize repair times.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with production employees and contractors in a professional and effective manner.
- Exceptional teamwork, communication, time management, data processing, multi-tasking skills, with an understanding of urgency and critical issues is required.
- Completion of 10hr in OSHA 1910 and/or 1926 within 3 months of hire date.
- (2) written work-related recommendations from previous/current employers, or instructors, or co-workers
- Minimum 2 years of Facilities Maintenance, similar work experience, or a Journeyman's card in a Building/Construction Trade.
- Two years of commercial electrical experience in an industrial environment and/or accredited training from a trade school or college.
- Strong experience with computers, internet, smartphone/tablet, and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid State Driver’s License.
Qualifications
- Completion of 10hr in OSHA 1910 and/or 1926 within 3 months of hire date.
- (2) written work-related recommendations from previous/current employers, or instructors, or co-workers
- Minimum 2 years of Facilities Maintenance, similar work experience, or a Journeyman's card in a Building/Construction Trade.
