About the role

Responsibilities

  • Collect and prepare rock samples to create a record of the geologic properties throughout the well.
  • Observe and collect data that is vital to our customers' operations geologists.
  • Deliver reports to operations geologists at various oil & gas producers throughout the country.
  • Work and live at remote job sites for 1 to 3 weeks at a time.
  • Describe rock sample cuttings circulated during the drilling process.
  • Maintain gas monitoring equipment that collects total gas and gas chromatography information.
  • Create documents called mud logs, which are reported to the customer as a record of the well.
  • Provide attention to detail and work within the region you are hired into, not the city you live in.
  • Possibly continue education in specialty services such as Mass Spectrometry, X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), or Flame Ionization Detection (FID).

Pay

$55,935.51 - $91,978.48 yearly salary
