About the role

The Wellpoint Technician provides support for wellpointing operational activities, including setup, installation, removal, and teardown of wellpoint systems at jobsites. This role assists in mobilization and demobilization and works under the direct supervision of a Wellpoint Operator II or higher as a contributing team member.

Responsibilities

  • Complete wellpointing operational support activities with little supervision, including hand jetting wells, dropping wellpoints, handling wellpoint hose, operating the jet pump, assembling boots and clamps, and moving and preparing materials.
  • Assemble and complete wellpoint system layouts with intermittent supervision; identify components such as pipes, fittings, and sizes.
  • Perform boot and clamp inspections, QA/QC procedures, wellpoint system tuning, and whole system setup under direct supervision.
  • Train on running the jet pump; perform daily visual inspections of the jet pump and jet trailer and learn proper maintenance.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain pumps, pumping equipment, and generators, including starting, powering up, monitoring, and inspecting.
  • Set up and tear down equipment and systems for assigned projects.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Move and maintain pumps, compressors, generators, hoses, and other equipment under supervision using proper rigging, lifting, and suspended load procedures.
  • Complete minor repairs and preventive maintenance on assigned vehicles or equipment as directed.
  • Perform refueling activities for equipment on site under direct supervision, following proper safety procedures.
  • Clean, organize, and maintain jobsites, yard, and shop areas.
  • Adhere to company and regulatory environmental, health, and safety standards; ensure safe work practices at all times.
  • Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Fleet Safety Program, including DOT requirements, when driving a company vehicle.
  • Participate in site safety activities such as JSAs, safety observations, and incident reports.
  • Maintain and complete all necessary paperwork per company policy.
  • Enroll in Mersino’s internal CDL-A training program (without airbrakes).
  • Ensure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as requested.

Requirements

  • 6-9+ months of experience as a Wellpoint Laborer.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence and a clean driving record.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL-A license without airbrakes.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Rigging and Signalperson Certification.

  • As Needed: Incident Report Form.
