About the role
CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is seeking a part-time Wellness Associate to provide supportive services for guests in a Wellness Respite program. This role helps guests have a meaningful and successful stay while learning crisis coping skills to work toward realizing their full potential. Wellness Respite offers up to 10-day stays in an open-door setting, allowing guests to maintain daily activities as an alternative to hospitalization during crisis.
Responsibilities
- Follow team protocols to document guest treatment information, including medications and follow-up appointments.
- Maintain a working relationship with all guests and provide guest counseling.
- Support guests in developing coping strategies, advancing recovery goals, and achieving personal objectives.
- Advocate for guests to access needed resources and collaborate to develop social and recreational opportunities.
Schedule
Sunday, Monday, Friday, and Saturday | 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
32 hours per week
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health/human service discipline or High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of related experience.
- C.P.R.P. (Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner) preferred.
- Able to deliver effective individual and group training across diverse learning levels.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage crises.
- Ability to effectively communicate and relate to a diverse population in a multicultural environment.
- Proven ability to engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses using empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed practices.
- Proficient in MS Office products and general computer literacy.
- Valid NJ driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring individuals who use their personal experience with mental health diagnoses or substance use to inspire, support, and empower others.
