Responsibilities
- Practice servant leadership in all aspects of decision-making
- Serve as the “Charge Nurse” in the absence of the Executive Director and Director of Health & Wellness
- Contribute to all aspects of medication management, including orders, administration, storage, documentation, and compliance with State Regulations, Guidelines, and Company policy
- Ensure resident rooms and common areas are clean and safe
- Assure care partners and medication assistants are familiar with residents’ individual conditions and trained to provide services effectively, professionally, and sensitively
- Assist residents with self-medication or administration of medications
- Provide limited nursing license daily recommendations and documentation (if applicable)
- Implement plans of care recommended by the Resident Wellness Director
- Implement change-in-condition plans
- Provide accurate and timely documentation of all care in the electronic health record and assist with assessments as scheduled or with changes in condition
- Complete accident and incident reports as required
- Maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, and responsible parties
- Prepare for and manage emergency situations, including disasters, fire, and other emergencies
- Ensure adequate and appropriately trained care partners and medication assistants are available for each shift, within company and state guidelines
Requirements
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) license (LVN/LPN preferred)
- Two years’ experience in a senior living environment preferred
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification
- Must successfully complete all company-specified training programs
- Effective communication skills commensurate with professional standards
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with wellness team members, leadership, residents, family members, vendor partners, referral sources, and outside contacts
- Neat, clean appearance according to dress code; ensure team members adhere to dress code and safety standards
- Demonstrated high level of service delivery; prioritizes customer needs and handles service failures
- Able to make independent decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and interpret complex information
- Ability to communicate warmly and build credibility and rapport
- Able to work cooperatively with a group to achieve goals
- Tactful, maintains confidences, fosters an ethical work environment, and prevents inappropriate behavior
- Open-minded, adaptable to change, and able to manage transitions effectively
- Ability to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background screening in accordance with Florida law and company policy. Certain positions may require fingerprinting and Level 1 or Level 2 background screening.
