GENERAL SUMMARY
The Wellness Director is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the residents by supervising and directing the care given by the Personal Care Attendant, ensuring that care is provided to residents in a respectful, caring and professional manner in accordance with regulations and established policies and procedures. The Wellness Director must conduct him/herself in a professional manner while responding to families, visitors, staff and volunteers.
EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Of One (1) Year Supervisory Experience Preferred.
- Two (2) years of satisfactory experience in a hospital/rehabilitative setting preferred.
- Two (2) Years Assisted Living/Personal Care Experience Preferred.
MONITORS AND ASSESSES HEALTH STATUS
- Makes nursing assessments of residents.
- Administers medications as needed.
- Refers residents for different levels of care.
DIRECTS AND SUPERVISES CARE
- Assigns tasks to Personal Care Attendants.
- Supervises the quality of care provided.
- Coordinates care between Personal Care Attendants and other staff.
COMMUNICATES AND DOCUMENTS
- Communicates assessments and recommendations to physicians and Administrator.
- Charts and records relevant information in logs, reports, and care records.
RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL CARE RECORDS
- Ensures that all health care services are in compliance with regulations.
- Monitors personal care records to ensure proper medication, care, and treatment.
RESPONDS TO EMERGENCIES AND NON-EMERGENCIES
- Responds to emergencies and non-emergencies according to established policies and procedures.
- Reports to the Administrator of Allied Terrace any errors, discrepancies, or unusual events.
- Completes official transfer sheets and faxes them to the hospital to which the resident was admitted.
- Notifies the party responsible for the resident's medical decisions.
- Documents all actions taken.
PREPARES SCHEDULES AND COORDINATES DAILY ROUTINES
- Prepares work schedules for staff, including meal times and break times.
- Collaborates with the Dining Room Supervisor regarding nutritional needs for personal care residents.
MANTAINS KNOWLEDGE OF POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
- Maintains current knowledge of Allied Services nursing care policies and procedures.
- Maintains familiarity with fire and disaster action plans, infection control, and pharmacy policies.
- Fulfills in a timely manner, employee-related supervisory responsibilities.
ATTENDS INSERVICE PROGRAMS
- Attends and completes required inservice programs and sessions.
- Contributes to the content of inservice programs.
MAINTAINS EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
- Ensures staff is aware of and follows Allied Services Human Resources Policy & Procedure Manual.
- Makes effective recommendations in matters of hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination.
- Ensures staff is aware of and follows Allied Terrace Division policies and procedures.
