About the role
The Healthcare Resort of Plano is seeking a Wellness Director to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Ensures adherence to CAPLICO Core Values and Code of Conduct.
- Ensures compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies.
- Maintains a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for all residents, staff, families, and community guests.
- Manages the Wellness department staff, including interviewing, hiring, orienting, coaching, counseling, and evaluating staff.
- Sustains professional growth of staff through encouragement of teamwork, promotion of wellness philosophy, and support of open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
- Protects resident and staff safety by recognizing, reporting, and taking immediate action to minimize risks of accidents or injuries.
- Monitors infection control guidelines and follows state and community requirements.
- Participates in community meetings and stays updated on current assisted living regulations.
- Complies with company and state/federal regulations, conducts in-service and staff meetings, and collaborates with other departments to promote resident health and well-being.
- Coordinates health services with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, and other agencies to ensure optimal care.
- Responds promptly to resident emergencies and maintains adequate care supplies.
- Performs additional duties as necessary and maintains valid licenses/certifications as required by state and/or federal regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily.

- Works in various areas including offices and nursing service areas.
- Interacts with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies, and others under all conditions and circumstances.
- Communicates with medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department supervisors.
- Works beyond normal hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
- May be on call 24/7 and subject to emergency conditions.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals, infectious waste, and other potential hazards.
